Choosing a neighborhood in which to move and a home in which to live are very important and personal decisions. Anixter Center believes that building a sense of community and developing a feeling of ownership are essential for a person to learn and grow.

We have been providing residential services to people with disabilities since 1974. Today, we are recognized for our commitment to choice and for our caring, compassionate and competent assistance to more than 200 people a year with developmental disabilities, mental illness, physical disabilities and sensory disabilities.

We operate 22 small-and-medium-sized residences on Chicago’s North Side and in Evanston and Lake County, Illinois, which are licensed and funded by the Illinois Department of Human Services and accredited by CARF, the Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission.
